But we know this... And sorry for that very disturbing image on New Year's Day, but I have a quandary for which I am asking your help, dear readers and I thought it just might catch your attention.
I have one day left of my holiday vacation and I haven't seen a single movie on my list. So I am determined at some point in the day tomorrow, to see a movie. My "to see" list is always long. My "have seen" list is regrettably short; even more so, this year. I've been able to whittle a few off the list, simply because they are not playing near me, yet. And then I narrowed it down to those playing at my favorite multiplex in nearby NJ. And still, I am having a hard time choosing. And that's where you come in. I need you're help choosing. I've been able to narrow it down to five choices:
The Adventures of Tintin:
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo:
War Horse:
Young Adult:
The Darkest Hour:
Quite a list, isn't it? I'm happy to admit that my tastes are nothing if not eclectic. So, PLEASE take the easy poll, below. If I do go to the movies, I will see whatever movie wins.
More, anon.

I saw MI 4 on NY eve (mom's choice) and was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I hadn't seen 1, 2 or 3 but didn't need to. The location shots and cinematographe were great and it had a solid plot that neatly tied everything up. Plus it starred Simon Peg and the best line I've heard in years spoken by Jeremy Renner, "Next time I get to seduce the playboy millionaire."
Saw War Horse today. A good film.
But I really want to see Young Adult, so I suggest that.
Everyone thinks the Darkest Hour is horrible crap -but go to Rotten Tomatoes for more info on that.
Tintin I kinda want to see, as well as The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (though I hear its super intense).
I've seen Tin Tin twice now. It's absolutely great. Go see that one. Plus Tin Tin is "drawn" quite well.
Darkest Hour I heard was awful awful. The comment that really hit home is "how lazy for Hollywood to film invisible aliens." Yeah I agree with that...made on a low budget, takes place entirely in one location, and has no story and no alien reveal.
I did see the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. There's a graphic rape scene early on. Aside from that, this is just a story of private investigators finding a serial killer. That's it. You've been there done that with Silence of the Lambs and countless others. The difference here is that the serial killer is not nearly as awesome as Hannibel Lecter. And no writer is going to have Daniel Craig's body. You don't even get to see his butt...but you see the girl's tits and pussy all over the place.
Warhorse...haven't seen it...but it's a horse. How exciting could that be? I heard it's the same excitement as watching those old Lassie programs only it's a tour of World War 1 so that Spielberg can educate you on the "horror". Oh and it'll have a John Williams soundtrack to evoke an emotional response.
I heard Young Adult was flat out terrible.
So the verdict...go see Tin Tin.
